Hartbeespoort Properties
Hartbeespoort is surrounded by the Hartbeespoort Dam on the one side and the beautiful
Magaliesberg mountains on the other. Property owners therefore enjoy beautiful views
of both the mountains and the dam. Hartbeespoort is centrally located between Gauteng,
Tswane, Rustenburg and the ever popular Sun City and is less than 45 minutes' drive from Johannesburg
and Pretoria.
Hartbeespoort is very popular with businessmen and families who prefer the peace and
quiet of the country and commute to the city centre to attend to their jobs. It is also a very popular
weekend getaway with many lock-up and go properties. Hartbeespoort
and the surrounding areas are also sought after areas for property investors because
of the many country and golf estates in the area.
Brits Properties
Brits is a modern and developing town close to Johannesburg, Pretoria and the Hartbeespoort
Dam. Many of the properties surrounding Brits are citrus groves and
small game farms. Eco Golf Estate is a 18 hole golf course property development.
Brits is also well known for its platinum and chrome mining activities. The mines are
expanding which in turn stimulates property sales and the demand for investment
properties. The buy-to-let market is flourishing in Brits with good returns
on rental properties. Rental apartments are sought-after due to many contractors working
on six to 12-month contracts, with bachelor units the most popular.
The demand for game farms in Brits, between 50 and 500ha, has also increased with buyers
from the surrounding cities looking for weekend retreats. Farms that do come on to the market are usually
priced in access of R15m, with little properties available in the more popular range
of between R2m and R8m.
Brits properties are fairly scarce with a resultant increase in selling prices up to
the point where they are now in line with ABSA’s national property average of around
R900 000. Top end properties in Brits are going for as much as R2,5m.
Popular attractions in and around Brits are the De Wildt Cheetah Research Centre and
the Vaalkop Dam Nature Reserve with more than 340 bird species.
